Contest participants
BUILD THE (IM)POSSIBLE is the international contest created by Rothoblaas, inviting participants to explore hybrid and sustainable structural solutions through the innovative use of timber – both from a design perspective and in response to the collective interest in environmental sustainability.
AUDIENCE
The contest is open to professionals and students in the structural and architectural sectors, with a particular focus on timber and hybrid construction. This includes architects, engineers, designers, students of architecture and engineering.
CATEGORIES
-
Designers and builders
Those who drive innovation, designing and constructing buildings that test new possibilities in real-world conditions, navigating the regulatory, urban planning, logistical and budget constraints of an actual construction site.
-
Students, researchers, academics
Those who explore ideas on paper; hypothesising, planning and dreaming big without necessarily seeing the project through. These are students, PhD students, researchers or university professors.
The finalist
Four finalists will be selected (two per category), from whom two winners will be chosen based on the originality and effectiveness of their design solutions.
This approach aims to bring industry experts and emerging talent together, combining experience with fresh ideas to shape the future of construction through the smart integration of different materials, with a strong focus on timber and hybrid structures.
There are no geographical restrictions, and participants can submit both completed and ongoing projects.
